Auto Collision Frame Alignment
Chief EZ -Liner Uni body Frame specs Print out

It all starts out with a Print out from the Data base of the original build measurements of the vehicle unless its a older classic car and measurements are not available what we do then is set up a blank sheet and run measurements of the existing vehicle confirm that its square

center line is on thats is a center line that Runs thru the middle of the car the next step would be to check datum height that is up and down specifications along with checking wheel base and all steering points after all the lower measurements are complete the final step is to check all outer body sheetlmetal .

above picture is of a Chief measuring system this system measures as many points as you set up and continuously measures throughout the repair process this is very helpful to see the repair and watch other crucial points to see the damage being removed as the  corrective Pulls are made .

CAROLINERAbove is a Car -o-liner Mark 5 rack one of my favorite tools of the trade very cool simply because its a piece of precision steel with a machined true surface to jig the cars and access to all suspension is easy along with this Frame Machine went from 0 – to 6ft so weather you were working on the roof or the underside it was readily available .

CRASH4This is a shot of a late model Nissan torn down for an estimate with the insurance company over the years

My shop has completed over 15,000 collision Wrecks we have 3 frame machines and also owned a fleet of tow trucks  .

CRASH1On the newer cars we often find that the engine cradle its a square box that bolts into the lower frame rails to support the engine and suspension many times we have to R7I the engine with cradle and install I new one . Due to miss alignment during impact.

CRASH7 I hope Today’s Post is about  Auto Collision Frame Alignment gave you a better Picture of what it takes to put your car back to Pre- loss condition and gives you a sense of relief that when you use our Collision services you are in good hands

Collision Repair in SWFL

JohnCollisionOctober 6, 20120 Comment

When you are looking for a  Collision Repair in SWFL and the Fort Myers surrounding areas you need to ask your self some smart questions. Simply taking your car to any shop in the area is not a smart move. Please read on i’m going to go against the grain here and educate a bit on what has happened in the Auto Body Industry. With out rambling on for too long im just going to cut to the facts quickly. I have been in the business as a shop owner since 1980 ( 33 years as of now) and my shop originally was up north. Like most all of us seeking a warmer climate moved to Swfl. I ran what people would call a state of the art shop. We were known as the Heavy hit Collision Repair specialists. We had 6 tow trucks towing for the police at all times and pulled in some pretty mangled up cars and trucks. Along with two Car-o-liner Uni-body Frame machines with measuring we also had a drive on rack for the trucks that came in. In the earlier days the shops had a better handle on the repairs and worked for the customer providing a service (like it should be) and negotiating with the major insurance companies on how your car repair should be done (Amica, Nationwide, Allstate, Geico, Progressive). That was before you heard of Direct Repair Shops.

What happened originally is all the auto body shops that were starving for work signed up as “direct repair “ and thought it was their answser for bad marketing. They liked the idea of work coming in with little effort. They did not realize they would be making concessions in how (your ) car will be repaired. The insurance company wanted to control costs so they fed the auto body shops their customers. Directly this caused all sorts of problems and anti steering laws were created and adjusted because it benefited the insurance company to send the consumer to their “preferred shops” so they can tell the shops how to fix the cars and keep their cost down. This is not a good idea when you are fixing a car to pre-loss condition. For the simple fact the insurance company will push used parts and aftermarket (non OEM) on the shops that they are feeding. I hope you get the picture that that is not the proper way to fix your vehicle after its been in an accident. You deserve new original equipment parts (OEM ) and that is exactly how we repair the cars to pre-loss condition at our shop. We don’t settle for used quarter panels and used parts and many times it is actually cheaper to do the job correct the first time. Period end of discussion and I hope you can see the difference on your Mercedes Benz, BMW or Ford f150. We fix them all and it sure makes a difference in the quality of the repair when the shop is using new OEM parts and not used (LKQ) replacement parts.

The other aspect I will touch on is the shop you pick to repair your car should be a careful decision. I recommend using a shop where the owner is on the job and one person works on your car this way the tech is updated with every aspect .Why? Well, if one person is working on your car taking it apart and writing the estimate along with ordering the parts your best interest (the car will ) have all procedures completed properly. No middle men, no mistakes, just a good quality repair from a trained Icar certified collision tech. When there are to many hands in the project mistakes are made and you do not get the same quality repair.

I hope this helps you with the basics of picking a good repair shop your auto body needs .

It is not a job for us, it is our passion.
